Singapore credit cards are still accepted. I don’t claim to know the reason why. You are reading Eric SGP blog, do you have a permanent or semi-permanent SGP address. If you work in SGP, then you should be able to get SGP credit or debit card? Personally I don’t like PayPal. (they claim I owe them dues). What choice do you have? Some products take 2-3 weeks to arrive in SGP by AIR. Darn sight better than some parcels from US 6-8 weeks previously

Download Google Chrome (browser), it automatically translates to English. Google how to buy from TaoBao if you don’t know Chinese. Neither do I but I bought from TaoBao a few years now with few problems. Some times you get “shipped” followed by “out of stock”, thats just the seller not knowing what he or she is doing. Logistics by the Chinese is complicated issue. 3-4 warehouses/distribution centers in Guangzhou Baiyun alone, near the Baiyun airport. But China local freight is cheap. Their productivity is low. They won’t ask you to pay air/sea freight if no stock, and having gone through so many warehouses.

Recently I ordered a finger nail manicure machine, 240V, 1.66Kgs, it took 11 days to deliver by AIR. (Seller based in Guangzhou) The International delivery order no. generated CNSGS0001234567, (China) EMS, meaning express, I had insurance (cheap), that means ‘registered article’. Clear SGP customs Mon. 16:30, only entered distribution center (guess where? SingPost) Tues. 23:55. Delivered sometime on Thurs, between 9:40 to 17.40. No messaging. I was not at home. It was then dropped into POPStation (locker by SingPost) Hougang Mall. It took me a good 4-5 hours of detective work to finally call SingPost. I managed to retrieve article before the Mall shutters 10pm.

I’m from Singapore, the item in RMB is very obvious (Taobao). Its also in SGD in small faint print. RMB to SGD is about 5:1 ( or about SGD 20 cents per RMB ). SGD 1 equals about RGT 3 . Therefore 1 RGT buys about 1.66 RMB or 1 RMB buys 60 sen

Comment on Taobao International Shipping: Everything You Need To Know

Lazada shipping is not that bad. I once bought a 12″ Chang Hong ‘karaoke’ type sound box, 7kgs and quite bulky, container ships are quite fast. From Guangzhou to SGP could be quite a few ports of call in between, maybe Ho Chi Minh and other ports. I estimate the sea part to be about 10 days to 2 weeks. The parcel arrived faster than 3 weeks by sea projected.

With International Delivery Order no. is given use DEX tracking (google it) for the ‘international’ part. Dispatched from final warehouse to clearing China customs is considered international. Dispatched to destination does not mean exactly that. It can take 2 days for the consolidation to take place. So from dispatch to destination to arrival in Singapore can take 2 to 2.5 days, by AIR. Remember this is NOT we real time. The plane could have arrived SGP many hours ago, but its the keying into the system of that particular parcel that counts
