Thank you for posting such an informative tutorial. It helped me ease into taobao’s daunting website. There is one problem I’m encountering on taobao that I cannot find any info about on the internet. Before I start, this is my first time using taobao.

Info: I ordered 4 items all from separate stores on Jul 22. Three items have arrived to the warehouse on Jul 24, but one hasn’t. This item is a sensitive item. The final shipping address for all items is to Taiwan. 


Problem: So, I placed an order on the sensitive item on Jul 22. After 3 days the items weren’t shipped to the warehouse until I contacted the seller asking them why aren’t the items shipped yet and I gave my order information. The seller did not respond but soon after my message the status changed to “卖家已发货”. Now it’s been 3 days and the item hasn’t even arrived at the warehouse. When go to the delivery details it’s stuck at “商家正通知 圆通速递 揽件 Seller is contacting domestic courier company.” So it’s been stuck at “【中国】商家正通知快递公司揽件” since Jul 25. 


I don’t get it. It says the seller has shipped but it also says the seller is contacting the courier. Which one is it: shipped or not shipped? I don’t know what’s wrong and what to do. My other 3 items is waiting in the warehouse for overseas shipping.

Hi Eric,

I sent back an item because the item I received was the wrong size. They told me that I didn’t need to click the refund/exchange button on Taobao and that they will ship out the correct size. They shipped the item with the correct size on Nov. 23 by STO. I got the tracking number and on Nov. 24 I saw that they shipped it to another courier, Yuantong (YTO). There was no tracking number for Yuantong so I don’t know any whereabouts of the item. It is Dec. 20 and I have still not received the item. I tried contacting YTO for the tracking number, but I am directed to an automated voice
message that asks for the tracking number which I do not know. I’ve contacted the taobao store and they said they could not help.
I wish I could resolve this problem and celebrate Christmas in peace. 🙁

Now I’m just waiting to get my refund. :/
In the meantime, I’ve consolidated my other 3 items for international shipping. I want to extend the time of receipt but it keeps on saying “您可以在离超时结束还剩最后 3 天时,申请延长确认收货时间!” I still have 3 days left and I think it’ll take more than 3 days for the items to arrive.

I’ve submitted the refund form. After I’ve submitted the refund form, the seller contacted me saying that they tried to contact me on my cell but I received no calls recently. They said that they will ship within 48 hours. I told them I’ve waited too long and want a refund. I hope the refund goes through. :/
