What To Do When You Can’t Receive Taobao Verification Code?

This post helps you solve verification code problems you may encounter during the Taobao registration process.

I listed three solutions based on my own experience and others’ feedback.

1. Use Google Voice (Recommend)

After registration with google voice, you will get a US phone number, this phone number can smoothly receive taobao verification code, I use google voice to regiter taobao account for myself and others with 100% success rate,so this is the most direct solution.

2. Check With Your Phone Carrier Company

Some phone carrier block text code from oversea by default.so you need to check with your phone carrier company if it turns on the international message service for you.

3.  Try Using The Taobao Mobile App

Taobao has just released a new mobile app, called “Taobao lite(淘宝lite).” You can install it ino your smart phone, then try to registere the taobao account on your mobile phone.

    I’ve been using taobao app but I can’t login on computer. I can login to Alibaba on computer though, tried the same username and password for taobao on computer but still doesn’t work.

    it’s been so long I’ve forgotten how but i used to have an alternate method to login to taobao.
    I don’t own a phone so i can’t verify and without that I can’t enter my account to explore or change anything. Is there still an option other than phone verification that I can access without registering a new account?

    unfortunately, Google voice is not available in many countries, not sure if it is at all out side the US. And in order to get a voice number, even if you use a VPN, you still need to confirm a US number

    I moved from HK to Australia and want to use Taobao but I dont have my HK number anymore. How do I change my mobile number without a verficiation text being sent to the old number?

      Hi,it will be difficult to do this if you dont have my HK number anymore.did you add any other verification method like email or security questions?
      it is best to open a new account if there is not important information there.you can also give a call to their customer support to see if they can give you better suggestion.

    I am unable to revive my phone verification and there seems to be no other way to enter my account. When I try to use the we scan code option on the mobile device all the info is Chinese with no ability to translate. Is there any way I can speak to the live chat without logging in?
